Ginch Gonch presented their Spring 2008 Collection
Ginch Gonch presented their Spring 2008 Collection in a tribal themed runway show in Toronto over the weekend called National GinchGonch (a play on National Geographic - a modified Nat Geo masthead, with the yellow box and font, was projected onto the rear screen at the start of the show).
The undies are the usual Ginch Gonch look but there’s a something a little dubious about their borderline-offensive interpretation of “tribal” - models covered in streaks of mud and eating bananas while carrying random bits of flotsam such as bongo drums and spears and wearing underpants badged with designs drawn incongruously from North American Indian iconography and Amazonian river life. The models appeared to be performing some sort of primitive tribal “dance” at one point on the catwalk, too.
